Seth Reeves
Long hitter and Georgia Tech Yellow Jacket Seth Reeves drove the 346 yard 10th on his way to becoming the 2011 Southeastern Amateur Champion.
Unknown to Reeves was that competitors were still on the green as his ball landed 12 feet shy of the pin, right online. Reeves made the extra effort to get to the green quickly after realizing what had happened to apologize to his fellow competitors, all of whom were unharmed and noticably having a chuckle about the long drive feat.
The Championship Course at the Country Club of Columbus put on its stearnest test in years. Green speeds played a major roll in only allowing 5 competitors under par for the tournament. Reeves carded a 3 over 74 on Sunday, including the birdie on 10.
Reeves said that he was grateful to play well again after a year in which his game hadn't been the best. And that it was nice to see the hard work he has been putting in at Georgia Tech pay off.
